Over 13 months we are engaging in a creative entanglement to generate, interact, or share creative proximity in a way such that the state of each creation of the individual or group cannot be described independently of the state of the others. The Event Horizon entanglement allows participants to remain connected so that actions performed on one may affect the other, even when separated by great distances.
For this entanglement I am coalescing 13 questions gathered from initial meetings to help create a map of understanding for the project. These questions will act as a mode of research myself as well as pillars of understanding for both participants and viewers.
My research will culminate in an interactive work that will premiere in Orange County, CA in November 2021. Within my creation process I'm looking for ways performers and viewers can become entangled with the 13 questions and each other during the performance.
Within Event Horizon I have found 2 other modes of collaboration or entanglement through participating in Paula Johnson's Journey Dance Film with my high school students and Damaris Ferrer's The Crossings by gathering several local movement practitioners in the Los Angeles area.
